Yoga is for EVERYONE

You may feel stagnant in your mind or your body or your soul. You may feel like you’re not at your optimum state of health in any of those areas. You may feel that yoga practice is just stretching. Well, you might be surprised to find out that practicing yoga and meditation daily can actually help heal you mentally, physically, and spiritually on levels you’ve yet to imagine.

The most common thing I hear when talking to someone about starting a yoga practice is, “I’m not flexible enough for that.” Well, luckily you don’t need to be. You don’t need to be flexible or skinny or a certain race or a certain religion to begin a yoga practice. Yoga is for EVERYONE, and moving your body, opening your body’s tissue, and strengthening and releasing your muscles is a really fascinating and fun way to bring health and healing to your life so you can live your best life possible.

When I started yoga practice almost six years ago, I was more flexible than I was strong. In fact, I hardly had any muscular definition or core strength whatsoever. My planks were flimsy, five breaths in downward dog seemed like ages, and it was an experience that truly challenged me, and I loved every drop of sweat that let me know I was heading towards a better me. I am still working towards balancing my strength with flexibility—yoga is, after all, a lifelong practice—but I have never in my entire life felt as healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually as I do right now (and I’m still just getting started).

It’s never too late to start taking care of yourself. You’re never too old or the wrong shape or the wrong anything to start a practice that can change your life for the better. You can start right now exactly as you are.

There are classes all over town at all times of day with different levels to choose from. There are YouTube videos, online Yoga tv, books, and DVDs. The only thing standing in your way is your own excuses.

I am always happy to chat with anyone about starting a yoga practice. Message me if you are still trying to figure out where to begin.

With love,
